Admissions
Emet Osteopathics, in association with the Sutherland-Chan School of Osteopathy, offers two clearly defined admissions options designed to support committed adult learners while remaining grounded in the core goals and principles of osteopathy.
This collaboration brings together Emet Osteopathics’ focus on foundational osteopathic sciences, clinical reasoning, and professional formation with Sutherland-Chan’s long-standing experience in structured osteopathic education and clinical training.
Professional Entry
This option is intended for applicants who already hold a background in health sciences, including:
• Regulated healthcare practitioners
• Applicants with healthcare diplomas or degrees
• Applicants with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent
Students entering through Professional Entry transition directly into osteopathic education, integrating prior academic knowledge into osteopathic clinical reasoning, palpation, and manual practice.
Foundational Entry
This option is designed for adult learners seeking to enter the osteopathic profession without a formal health science degree.
Through Emet Osteopathics, students complete a dedicated foundational phase that is integrated throughout the five years of training, in which anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology are taught in direct relationship to osteopathic principles, observation, and clinical application.
This structure ensures that foundational sciences develop alongside clinical reasoning and manual practice, allowing students to enter the professional osteopathic training delivered in association with the Sutherland-Chan School of Osteopathy with a shared clinical language and a coherent osteopathic framework.

A Unified Professional Outcome
While the admissions options differ, both routes converge into the same osteopathic curriculum, clinical expectations, and professional standards.
Graduates are prepared to practice osteopathy with integrity, depth, and a clear understanding of its goals; to support function, adaptability, and the conditions for health through skilled manual practice and sound clinical reasoning.
